Read my original post over on Quirk Books.
It’s that time of year again! Grab some comfy clothes, and sit back in your favorite chair because it’s Christmas Vacation! As a kid I read sooo many books during the Christmas holiday. Two weeks of unadulterated reading? Yes please! Since most people travel during the holidays, I thought a few good audiobook suggestions might be helpful. Or if you want to drown out the incessant droning of annoying family members tell the same story over and over… I won’t judge you.
Do you love a good mystery? Well, The Rook by Daniel O’Malley will leave you guessing til the bitter end. I talked previously about how this book was one of my faves last year, here. I actually listened to the audiobook version and loved the narrator. Load this book into your ear buds and you will be saying check mate.
Fantasy more your taste? Brain McClellan’s new book Sins of Empire will scratch that magical itch. This epic fantasy has it all; Gods, gun powder, and intrigue. I’m a big fan of McClellan’s other series, The Gunpowder Mage. This audiobook was very addictive and would be great for a holiday road trip!
A thrilling adventure will sure break up the monotony of the winter season. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo has you covered. This young adult novel centers on a daring heist with an unlikely group of misfits. Lots of buzz about this book in the reading community. I thought it was a fun YA book with cool world building.
